Hales and Kinnersley face multiple indictments for forging promissory notes and endorsements in the name of Samuel Edwards, and for knowingly circulating the forged instruments. The proceedings illustrate the growing severity with which eighteenth‑century courts treated financial fraud and the expanding complexity of commercial paper. 19 PAGES, printed in double columns.
