TITLE PAGE ONLY. First authored by Father Bonanni, and later revised by Abbate Giacinto Cervi. It was printed in Rome in 1776 by Venanzio Monaldini, a bookseller on the Corsovery much the Fleet Street of its day. Allegorical female figures frame the bilingual title of this musical encyclopaedia. Engraved by Arnold Wainwestrot, it announces Cervis revised edition of Bonannis seminal treatise. Engraving 24 x 37 cms, sheet 27 x 40 cms. A beautiful and elaborate engraving, only slightly darkened by age, and with two tiny stains in the top margin, just extending into the printed area.
