In 1840 the defendant published an edition of Shelley's Poems, containing the poem of Queen Mab, with the incriminating passages at pp 9, 14 and 19. He was indicted for publishing a blasphemous libel and found guilty, but was not called up for judgment. 15 pages, printed in double columns. A trial from the Reports of State Trials, New Series, 1892, published in facsimile, 1982. This particular trial report has been removed from a volume of Macdonell & Wallis's State Trials and is now preserved in a modern card cover for practicality - an unassuming but serviceable rebinding that favours function over finery.
