Castlemaine is accused of participating in the Popish Plot, tried before the Kings Bench in Ireland. Despite the fevered political climate, the evidence proves weak, and he is acquitted. His case stands out as one of the few Popish Plot prosecutions to collapse under scrutiny. 12 PAGES, printed in double columns.
