A short but characterful letter from Harold J. Laski, written on LSE headed paper in January 1947 to the Labour MP Arthur Skeffington. Laski forwards a copy of a letter sent that day to Bosworth Monck and complains, with typical dry humour, of the pressures of Fabian and party correspondence, noting that "a Chairman’s life is not a happy one."
