An 84 page book of newspaper clippings, all from the International Press-Cutting Bureau, 110 Fleet Street, London. Dated from 26th February 1935 to 14th March 1936. The vast majority of the clippings regard one court case at Marlborough Street (London) Police Court, and are from a huge selection of national and regional newspapers, detailing the initial evidence and court questions of a supposed embezzelment of £3000 by Falcon (Goldstone) from Mrs Edmundson. The money having been intended as an investment in starting a new diplomatic and political journal, but seemingly having been misused. There are a small number of clippings about other similar matters, including a court case regarding a breach of promise between a ship's steward and a cinema cashier. Each clipping is mounted on a slip showing the date and the name of the newspaper it is extracted from. The clippings are generally neatly folded and mounted on each page. There are a few loosely inserted clippings at the end of the book, along with a number of blank pages. Size: 16 x 20.5 cms. Quantity Available: 1.
