Christopher Layer (1683-1723) was an English Jacobite conspirator, in what is now referred to as the Atterbury Plot. He intended to enlist the help and support of former soldiers, seize control of the Tower of London, the Royal Mint, and the Bank of England, and hoped to seize the royal family, and murder senior government officials. Taken prisoner after being betrayed by friends, he was kept at the Tower of London, tried and subsequently executed for high treason in 1723. Size: Large folio (27 x 41 cms). Quantity Available: 1.
