This is an original Photograph from World War 2. Likely produced for propaganda and press use. Printed to the back, with the following information; BRITISH OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPH. BU. 842. XF. CROWN COPYRIGHT RESERVED. BRITISH UNITS CROSS THE ALBERT CANAL. British troops crossed the Albert Canal in the vicinity of Beeringen on Sept. 7th. The crossing was made by means of a Bailey Bridge, and Belgian refugees made use of the bridge to cross southwards to a safer area. Picture Shows. A tank buster crossing the Albert Canal by Bailey bridge, whilst refugees make their way back into a safer area. Removed from an old scrapbook, so the back of the photograph has marks on the back, not affecting the front. Item Type: Photo. Quantity Available: 1.
